Jordy Rosenberg is a transgender writer and scholar. He is an associate professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where he teaches 18th-Century Literature, Gender and Sexuality Studies and Critical Theory.
He is the author of Confessions of the Fox – a New York Times Editors Choice selection, shortlisted for the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize, a Lambda Literary Award, a Publishing Triangle Award, the UK Historical Writers Association Debut Crown Award, and longlisted for The Dublin Literary Award.
Confessions of the Fox is his first novel and has been recognized by The New Yorker, the Huffington Post, Buzzfeed, Kirkus Reviews, LitHub, Electric Literature and the Feminist Press as one of the Best Books of 2018.
Rosenberg’s writing has been supported by fellowships and awards from the Marion and Jasper Whiting Foundation, The Lannan Foundation, the Ahmanson Foundation/J. Paul Getty Trust, the UCLA Center for 17th- and 18th-Century Studies, the Society for the Humanities at Cornell University, and the Clarion Foundation’s Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers’ Workshop.
Monmouth University Center for the Arts will host Rosenburg as the Visiting Writer at Wilson Auditorium on April 7, 4:30 PM. The event is free and open to the public.
