St. Louis’ Trans Community Comes Together for Third Annual Telethon

For the third consecutive year the Metro Trans Umbrella Group (MTUG) is ready to launch their annual live telethon. On December 7 and 8, volunteers from the St. Louis, Missouri transgender community and their allies will once again come together to produce their biggest yearly fundraiser.

For 24 consecutive hours, the trans-expansive community will highlight local musicians, artists, and community leaders; and will cover hot trans-related topics via interviews that will be aired live across YouTube and Facebook.

Viewers will be able to show their support of the show’s talent and MTUG’s mission by making online donations or signing up to provide much needed monthly financial support.

MTUG is a St. Louis-based grassroots nonprofit organization that works to create a more inclusive and supportive community through events, support groups; and by offering resources and lifting each other up and empowering each other to work towards equality.

Funds raised from the telethon will help MTUG continue to serve those seeking outreach assistance who benefit from MTUG’s food pantry, hygiene pantry, Alix’s Closet free clothing resource, valuable support groups, and name change document assistance; as well as support from QTPOC: STL.

MTUG created and continues to maintain the first Transgender Memorial Garden in the United States located in St. Louis. This beautiful space is where community honors the lives of transgender people that have been lost to violence and celebrates the lives we spend together.

MTUG also brings trans voices to trans topics with their podcast series Trans A.M. They take a deep dive into subjects that effect the trans community and the people that are impacted.

Last year hundreds of generous supporters raised over $28,000 in just 24 hours! With your help this year MTUG has set a goal of $30,000 so they can continue to provide the many vital resources on which the community has come to rely.
